My Spins

  • Spending time with my two cats and my dog.

I have been lucky enough to travel to the USA to see the Celtics play 2 basketball games in 2019, and I’m hoping to travel there again to see a gridiron game and see the Saints play for the first time!

How others describe me

How others would describe me: Authentic, empathic, quirky, creative, compassionate, supportive and I hope they’d say funny.

My Spins

  • Creative things – earring making, cake-decorating, costumes; whatever my current hyper-focus is.
  • Singing and dancing – throughout my house, in my car, on nights out… whenever, wherever.
  • Travelling – I hate the process but love the sensory delights and awesome experiences of new countries.
  • McDonald’s Monopoly – I’m obsessed, bring on September 1st.
  • Reading – just don’t try to talk to me when I’m lost in a good book!
  • My family – 3 kids, husband, and my dog.

My Work Passions

  • Being neuroaffirming – the narrow view of neurotypical and acceptable is the problem: not neurodivergence. Let’s accept who we are, understand ourselves, and discover how to hack our way through life as a bright neurodivergent star in the cloudy sky of the neurotypical world.
  • Internalised, high-masking, non-stereotypical presentations of neurodivergence.
  • Validation and empathy at the core of everything I do – if in doubt: validate and empathise.
  • Reflective practice – in myself and others: engaging in it, modelling it, teaching it.
